Why
do I need an insulated chimney?
There are many reasons, but the most important is to keep you and your
family safe. The chimney systems we carry are all UL Listed to the 103HT
standard, which means they were tested and deemed safe up to 2100 degrees
F.
What
is the clearance of your Class-A chimney to wood ?
All of the Class-A chimney we carry has a minimum clearance to combustibles
of 2 inches.
I
don't see any 45 or 90 degree elbows, where are they?
There are none. To eliminate the possibility of dangerous hot spots in
your chimney, you are not permitted to have more than a 30 degree elbow
in any Class-A chimney.
Can
I use a 30 degree and 15 degree elbow to make a 45 degree?
You
cannot use two elbows together with any Class-A chimney.
Can
I extend my brick chimney with your metal chimney?
You
most certainly can! All it takes is an Anchor Plate and the proper sized
pipe for your chimney.
Do
I have to enclose the chimney?
Check
with your local codes, but in most areas, you do not have to run the chimney
in a chase when outside. In living areas, you should always have a chase
surrounding your chimney.
What
is a chase?
It
is a framed "box" that surrounds your chimney. Many people use a chase
on the outside to cover up the stainless chimney. They then cover the chase
with cultured stone, brick, or siding that matches the home. A chase really
dresses up the chimney on the exterior, but greatly adds to the overall
cost.
Can
I use your chimney to vent an oil burner?
All
of our Class-A Chimney is rated as "All Fuel" chimney. It can vent wood,
coal, oil, pellet, and non-condensing gas appliances.
Will
I get instructions?
Yes!
But we encourage you to download the instructions before you buy,
so you can get an idea what you will need to do and how to plan your project.
We have links to download instructions on each chimney product page.
