UL Listed TherMix Insulation
TherMix is a UL Listed 1777 Zero Clearance insulator for HomeSaver Relining Pipe. It's also recommended with Ventinox VG, VFT, and HiFlex Liners.
Mix with water in a ratio of 3.5 parts TherMix to 1 part water, then pour around your liner.
TherMix is available in 44 lb. bags. each bag fills 2.5 cubic feet. It's easy to work with, pours easily (it has the consistency of potting soil), and contains no asbestos. It takes seven to nine gallons of water to mix a whole bag of TherMix.
To figure how many cubic feet you need on any given job, you need two things: the volume of the chimney and the volume of the pipe. Subtract the latter from the former and you've got the volume of insulation you'll need. Here are the mathematical formulas:
W = width of flue in inches D = depth of flue in inches H = height of flue in inches P = 3.1416 Rē = radius of pipe multiplied by radius of pipe
For round HomeSaver and Ventinox sizes:
(W" X D" X H") - (pi X Rē X H")
For Small OvalFlex:
(W" X D" X H") - (40.2" X H")
And for RectangleFlex:
(W" X D" X H") - (54.6" X H")
Hold it! Remember that each bag of TherMix holds 2.5 cubic feet, so be sure to divide your final figure by 2.5 to determine how many bags you'll need for the job.
Follow all installation instructions regarding TherMix use and chimney sizing.
Furthermore, follow all instructions on the TherMix bag, paying particular attention to requirements concerning its curing and drying. Wear a respirator, goggles, and adequate skin protection when working with TherMix.
PLEASE NOTE: The bags of Thermix incur a higher charge due to their weight. For 1-3 bags, this charge is reflected in the price. Standard shipping still applies.
